Shake the dust off your feet

Rejected? Shake off the dust and move on.

Why do we allow ourselves to feel condemned? We are in your presence right now Jesus, we have your Spirit living inside of us and because your spirit we are powerful. When we accept your grace of salvation, we have your freedom right now, today! We have unconditional love. When people reject us, we need to simply shake that dust off our feet. No relationship is more important than the love you have for us and the love you want us to have for ourselves. People cross the line, but feel no remorse. Shake the dust off your feet and move on.

Jesus not only died and was resurrected so that we could experience salvation, deliverance and incredible joy in heaven, but right here, right now on earth. He wants us to have worry free joy, free of anxiety about everything. He wants us to experience the joy of wellness, wellbeing, no condemnation, and the overwhelming joy of His love. 1 Peter 5:7, (NIV)” Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you.”  He was tortured, crushed, and chastised that we could be free; freedom from illness, judgement and condemnation.  Isiah 53:5, (KJV) ” But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”  Isiah 53:4-5(MSG) But the fact is, it was our pains he carried—our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us. We thought He brought it on himself, that God was punishing Him for His own failures. It was our sins that did that to Him, that ripped and tore and crushed him—our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us WHOLE. Through his bruises we get healed.” We get healed of disease and illness, physically and mentally.

Unfortunately, We let our thoughts interfere with our faith. This is shown in “The Chosen” a depiction of the Gospel books of the bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.  The chosen is a recent series about the life of Jesus. Even though, His students/disciples were empowered to heal every manor of disease, physically and mentally, they did not feel worthy. Upon returned some expressed difficulty in processing and understanding what they had been empowered to accomplish; others felt their actions were fraudulent. They were not experiencing the miracles through the understanding of God, but their own limited human understanding.

No condemnation

1 ” There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2 | NKJV

Romans chapter 8 is rich encouragement for personal growth. When we are truly free, we partake of freedom from financial greed and envy. I heard a message during the Lenten season about financial greed. The presenter’s theory, “Financial greed is fueled by envy.” We see what others have and think we deserve to have the same for ourselves. God’s word says, do not covet our neighbor’s possessions, from the sermon on the mount, referred to in a previous blog.  If we allow ourselves to desire the lives of others and compare ourselves with others, we allow an evil spirit into our lives; that green spirit of jealousy and envy. Envy is why many Americans are in debt and unhappy.

When Jesus sent His 12 disciples out to teach His principles, He told them if they were not received well to shake the dust off their feet and keep moving. Jesus said, we should forgive 70 times 7. Forgiveness is healing for ourselves, but what I didn’t hear was that if people ask for forgiveness, forgive 70 times 7. Some people will never ask for forgiveness. In that case we forgive them for ourselves, but shake the dust off our feet and move on. Do not stand for cruelty and keep forgiving people that enjoy causing insult.

Society does not accept what it does not understand. What shall we to do when not accepted? We are to do as Jesus instructed His disciples. Jesus was rejected, mocked and scorned. Like Jesus we must be tolerant; also like Jesus, we don’t have to stay in toxic relationships. Jesus told his disciples to shake off the dust and move on. 12 “When you knock on a door, be courteous in your greeting. 13 If they welcome you, be gentle in your conversation. 14 If they don’t welcome you, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.” Matthew 10:12-14 (MSG). People cross the line, but feel no remorse. We will always love them, but not up close and personal. We will always have the love of Christ! He will never leave nor forsake us. Rejection is not our problem, it’s theirs. We will shake the dust off our feet and move on.
