People judging people is useless.

People are critical and Judgmental. We have but one judge.

There are two ways to judge people-both are useless.

When we seek solace in therapeutic groups, the enemy is there trying to steal our peace. Guess what? We have a choice. We have free will. Shall we succumb to the opinion of others or believe what God says about us? Isaiah 43:1 (KJV), the Lord says, “Fear not for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine.”

We are His children. He calls us His. “What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it-we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who He is or what He is up to.” 3 All of us who look forward to His coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus’ life as a model for our own.” 1 John 3:1, 3 (MSG). People are not qualified to judge. People judging people is useless.

When people are critical and condemning, because people often play judge and jury, reflect on the words of Romans 8:1 (KJV), Tis therefore now no condemnation (no guilty verdict, no punishment) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”   When we walk after the Spirit we walk like the example of Jesus. People think they are qualified to pass judgement, but not so. People judging people is useless.

Further, Matthew 7:1-4 (MSG), 1 “Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. 2 That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. 3 It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. 4 Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? “

We desire to validate our actions to redeem ourselves; However, Jesus is our redeemer. Whatever we say to judgmental people is useless, our words are rarely received as truth. The judge and jury have prematurely come to a verdict. Therefore, we must allow our Father redeemer to liberate us. After all, our Heavenly Father is the only qualified judge. People judging people is useless.

1 Samuel 16 (NLT) God told the profit Samuel to anoint a new king of Israel from the house of Jesse. Of note, Jesse’s sons were considered of stature, except the youngest, David.  “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but The Lord looks at the heart.”  The outward appearance is also situational. People judging people is useless.

If you know the story, David was anointed as king of Israel. However, it took 15 years of trials and tests before David took the throne. Joseph was tested similarly; he was betrayed by his brothers. But, God was with Joseph. Family relationships are complicated. Outsiders lending unsolicited evaluation is esoteric. People judging people is useless.

Our Heavenly Father is with us always and discerns truth in family dynamics. While Joseph was immature and should not have shared his dreams, which added fuel to the fire between he and his brothers, God was with Joseph. Joseph was placed in a pit and sold into slavery by his brothers; then falsely accused of violating his master’s wife and imprisoned, all before becoming vice-regent to the pharaoh of Egypt, Genesis 39-41.  Thirteen years elapsed before the fulfillment of God’s promise to Joseph.  God allows trials and tests to prepare us for promotion. People judging people is useless.

When God is seemingly silent. The question asked should be, what God do you want me to learn from this trial? If we have spent any time in church, we are familiar with the importance of treating people well, even when we are not treated well in return. However, no matter how many lessons of turning the other cheek, loving your neighbor as yourself, forgive them Father for they know not what they do, love them as I have loved you; the task is great of translating those instructions from the pages of the Bible into our hearts.

I like the lyrics pinned by Jonathan McReynolds, “He knows”. Lyrics paraphrased. “I won’t even try to tell it all, but God knows. There is a story behind every scar that God knows. ‘Cause when all the doors were closing, He mad a way and He ’s done so much for me that my words can’t say. You are probably wondering how you made it this far, God knows. What it took to be the person you are, Well, Only God knows. He knows your testimony. He knows the details of your story, He knows. Thank God for what He knows.” There are two ways to judge people, both are useless.

God, You are all powerful and can change anyone’s heart, change them or please change me. Unfortunately, this was not the model prayer of Jesus Christ while on Earth. He was beaten, bruised, chastised, not for himself, but for us. He prayed for his accusers, “Forgive them Father for they know not what they do.”, Luke 23:34 (KJV). Father, help us through your Holy Spirit to be more like you and please forgive us when we fall short. Amen.
